Quantum-Like Bayesian Networks for Modeling Decision Making
In this work, we explore an alternative quantum structure to perform quantum probabilistic inferences to accommodate the paradoxical findings of the Sure Thing Principle. We propose a Quantum-Like Bayesian Network, which consists in replacing classical probabilities by quantum probability amplitudes. However, since this approach suffers from the problem of exponential growth of quantum paramete...
متن کاملBalanced Neighbor Selection for BitTorrent-Like Networks
In this paper we propose a new way of constructing the evolving graph in BitTorrent (BT) as new peers join the system one by one. The maximum degree in the constructed graph will be O(1) while the diameter will remain O(lnn), with high probability, where n is the number of nodes. Considering a randomized upload policy, we prove that the distribution of b blocks on the overlay generated by our n...
متن کاملQuantum Inference on Bayesian Networks
Performing exact inference on Bayesian networks is known to be #P-hard. Typically approximate inference techniques are used instead to sample from the distribution on query variables given the values e of evidence variables. Classically, a single unbiased sample is obtained from a Bayesian network on n variables with at most m parents per node in time O(nmP (e)−1), depending critically on P (e)...
متن کاملBalanced Bayesian mechanisms
We present a new condition on beliefs that guarantee the Bayesian implementability of all efficient social decision rules. We show that this condition is easy to verify and is both more interpretable and more general than the conditions that are found in the literature. We also study conditions guaranteeing the Bayesian implementability of all social decision rules with balanced budget mechanisms.
متن کاملReading Dependencies from Polytree-Like Bayesian Networks
We present a graphical criterion for reading dependencies from the minimal directed independence map G of a graphoid p when G is a polytree and p satisfies composition and weak transitivity. We prove that the criterion is sound and complete. We argue that assuming composition and weak transitivity is not too restrictive.
